THRIVE Beef TVP is an enjoyable soy-based alternative to beef. Use it in vegetable stir fries, sandwiches, and pasta sauces for a vegetarian spin that's high in fiber and lower in fat than authentic meat. TVP is ideal for long-term storage and for everyday use.

These small, crumbly bits are a great way to add protein and texture to your meals without the mess or inconvenience of actual meat. Try it with your next dinner! We're sure that THRIVE Beef TVP will become a treasured part of your food storage.

What is TVP?
TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) is an excellent protein source that is easy to store and use. TVP is made from soy flour that has had the soy oil extracted. It is cooked under pressure, then extruded and dried. TVP is high in fiber and low in fat, making it ideal for food storage and everyday use. Because TVP is not made from meat, it does not run the same contamination risk from bacteria such as E. Coli and Salmonella. TVP is soy based, Kosher certified, and perfect for those on a vegetarian diet.

Directions:

Soak Beef TVP in hot water for 5-10 minutes. Add the beef TVP into your recipe to partially or completely replace beef. For enhanced flavor, rehydrate Beef TVP in beef stock made with THRIVE® Beef Bouillon instead of water.

Storage Conditions

Temperature: Storing THRIVE at a high temperature can significantly increase the speed that calories and vitamins will degrade over time. In the correct storage container, low-moisture foods such as THRIVE can be stored at room temperature or cooler (75 degrees Fahrenheit or lower) and remain nutritious and edible for years. Our stated shelf life assumes that the product will be stored in optimal conditions.

Humidity: The affects of humidity on a closed can are caused by heat and very similar to the affects of high temperature (see above). High humidity can corrode the cans and in some cases even cause the cans to leak. Areas with high humidity can reduce the opened shelf life of the product. As humidity varies with location please use your own discretion to prevent possible sickness from eating spoiled food.

Damaged Container: Minor dents in the center of the can are usually just a cosmetic issue. However, a can that has been dented near or on a seam can have a compromised air-tight seal and allow oxygen to enter the can. If this is the case we recommend using the dented can within the specified opened shelf life, rather than closed.

The best way to maintain the highest quality of your THRIVE products is to take care of them. If you intend on storing your food for the sealed shelf life, store the cans in a place that is not open to elements such as water, light, and air. Take care of it. Don't expose it unnecessarily to the elements. Also, be sure to keep the temperature and humidity low and even. Under these proper storing situations your THRIVE will maintain its delicious taste, natural coloring, and proper nutrients.

  1. Use it for Veg Soup

I used this instead of ground beef in vegetable soup. The family raved about it. Will use this again and again. I used it in meatloaf too. Gave a really good taste.

  2. Surprisingly good

Tonight I used the Beef TVP in combination with ground sirloin to make Swedish Meatballs. I was truly surprised to find out how good this combo was and it really did taste beefy.

I will be using this more often as it helps cut the cost of beef per serving which is important. Currently, top sirloin on sale is running around $4 a pound.

I will be ordering this product again as it was easy to use and tasty.

  3. Yummy

I added this to a meatloaf recipe. It called for 1 1/2 lbs of meat. I had only defrosted 1 pound. I added an extra egg for binding. It was the best meatloaf I ever had!

  4. Wow!

I made the pasta bake with the Beef TVP and beef. It was easy to use and tasted fine. My kids didn't even notice a difference. Can't wait for the husband to try it.
