Once upon a time, in a not-so-far-away land, lived a very tired mother.

This mother was constantly trying to keep up with the needs of her children and husband, but always felt she was falling short. She struggled to keep up with the laundry, vacuuming, and dishes. And when it came to meal preparation, she often found herself scrambling to come up with plans for feeding her family.

One day, this very tired mother decided to put a new plan into place. To help save with the stress of planning meals, she decided to make a weekly menu that she could easily stick to. She made a shopping list with a great sense of accomplishment and headed to the store.

Upon arriving back home and putting her groceries away, our tired mother made a horrifying discovery –she had just bought a lot of products she already owned!!! This made her realize that her messy pantry was costing her money! Don’t let yourself fall victim to dark corners and hidden cans of food!

Simply submit a photo of your messy pantry or food storage room to us along with your reasons for needing a food storage room/pantry makeover in one of the following ways:

Be sure to include your explanation for needing a pantry/food storage room makeover. Also, be sure to include your name, address, phone number, and email address.

Rules:

1. All entries must be submitted by April 19, 2009 by 6:00 pm MST
2. All entries must include your name, phone number, mailing address, and email address.
3. A picture of your messy pantry or food storage room must be included with your submission (we’ll accept any type of picture you can take, including cell phone pictures).
4. Only one entry allowed per person.
5. All entry pictures and descriptions (names will remain anonymous) will be posted on the Shelf Reliance blog and on a Pinching Your Pennies forum page.

Judging:

Once all entries are received, 5 (five) semi-finalists will be selected. All contest entrants will receive an “it’s time to vote email.” All semi-finalist messy pantry pictures will be shown on Shelf Reliance’s blog with instructions on how to vote for your favorite. All votes will be combined and tallied to choose (1) grand prize winner, (1) second place winner, and (1) third place winner. Winners will be notified via email or phone. Winners’ pictures will be posted on the Shelf Reliance and Pinching Your Pennies websites.

PRIZE TRANSFERABILITY: Prizes are not transferable prior to award and no requests for substitutions will be granted. The awarding of any prize is contingent upon full compliance with these Official Rules. Entrant agrees that any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to this Contest, or awarding of the prizes, shall be filed only in the state or federal courts located in the State of Utah and entrant hereby consents and submits to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action. Except where prohibited, by participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or awarding of the prizes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with participating in this Contest but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (c) under no circumstances will any participant be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.
