Calico Beans
This bright, colorful chili is easy to make and offers a variety of flavors to enjoy.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1⁄4 c thrive freeze dried chopped onions
- 1 cn pork and beans
- 1 c cooked thrive kidney beans (see instructions below)
- 1 c cooked thrive lima beans
- 2 T vinegar
- 2 T worcestershire sauce
- 1 T yellow mustard
- 1 c ketchup
- 1⁄2 c thrive brown sugar
Instructions
* Brown ground beef in a large stock pot. Add chopped onion and cook until tender, draining any grease.
* Add pork and beans, along with kidney and lima beans that have been cooked and drained, to the stock pot.
* Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes until heated through.
TO COOK KIDNEY AND LIMA BEANS:
* Rinse dried beans thoroughly and drain.
* Combine rinsed beans and 6 cups of hot water in a sauce pan; bring to a boil.
* Turn heat to medium, then cover with a lid that's slightly tilted and let simmer for 1 1/2 - 2 hours until beans are tender. Drain.
