Sourdough Pancakes

These sourdough pancakes are great with a buttery spread and fruity syrup!

Ingredients

  • 2 c sourdough starter (see below)
  • 2 c lukewarm water
  • 2 1⁄2 c thrive white flour
  • 1 T thrive white sugar
  • 1⁄4 c evaporated milk
  • 1⁄2 t thrive iodized salt
  • 1 t thrive baking soda

Instructions

* Combine first three ingredients in a large pot, cover, and let stand overnight.

* Add remaining ingredients, let stand 5 minutes, then ladle onto hot griddle and prepare as you would with any other pancake.

To prepare sourdough starter:

INGREDIENTS

1 quart lukewarm water
1 pkg dry active yeast
2 tsp THRIVE White Sugar
4 c THRIVE White Flour

INSTRUCTIONS

* Put lukewarm water in a 1/2 gallon jar. Add yeast and sugar to soften, then stir in flour. Cover with a clean cloth.

* Let rise until mixture is light and slightly aged (about 2 days). Mixture will thin as it stands; add flour as needed.

* As you use starter, replace the removed portion with equal amounts of flour and water.
