Ingredients

  • 1 c uncooked thrive kidney beans
  • 1 c uncooked thrive hard white winter wheat
  • 1 q water
  • 3 T fat
  • 1⁄3 c thrive freeze dried chopped onions
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 clv garlic
  • 2 c tomatoes
  • 1 t chili powder
  • salt & paprika to taste
  • 2 t thrive brown sugar
  • 1⁄2 T ketchup
  • 1⁄2 t cumin seed (optional)
  • cheese and green onions as toppings

Instructions

* Cook beans and wheat together in quart of water (may be soaked overnight before cooking). Add more water if necessary, and cook until almost tender.

* Saute meat, onions, and garlic; drain.

* Combine meat mixture, beans, and remaining ingredients. Simmer for 1 hour.

* Serve in individual bowls and top with cheese and green onions.
