Wheat & Bean Chili

Ingredients
- 1 c uncooked thrive kidney beans
- 1 c uncooked thrive hard white winter wheat
- 1 q water
- 3 T fat
- 1⁄3 c thrive freeze dried chopped onions
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 clv garlic
- 2 c tomatoes
- 1 t chili powder
- salt & paprika to taste
- 2 t thrive brown sugar
- 1⁄2 T ketchup
- 1⁄2 t cumin seed (optional)
- cheese and green onions as toppings
Instructions
* Cook beans and wheat together in quart of water (may be soaked overnight before cooking). Add more water if necessary, and cook until almost tender.
* Saute meat, onions, and garlic; drain.
* Combine meat mixture, beans, and remaining ingredients. Simmer for 1 hour.
* Serve in individual bowls and top with cheese and green onions.
