Storage Conditions
Temperature: Storing THRIVE at a high temperature can significantly increase the speed that calories and vitamins will degrade over time. In the correct storage container, low-moisture foods such as THRIVE can be stored at room temperature or cooler (75 degrees Fahrenheit or lower) and remain nutritious and edible for years. Our stated shelf life assumes that the product will be stored in optimal conditions.
Humidity: The affects of humidity on a closed can are caused by heat and very similar to the affects of high temperature (see above). High humidity can corrode the cans and in some cases even cause the cans to leak. Areas with high humidity can reduce the opened shelf life of the product. As humidity varies with location please use your own discretion to prevent possible sickness from eating spoiled food.
Damaged Container: Minor dents in the center of the can are usually just a cosmetic issue. However, a can that has been dented near or on a seam can have a compromised air-tight seal and allow oxygen to enter the can. If this is the case we recommend using the dented can within the specified opened shelf life, rather than closed.
The best way to maintain the highest quality of your THRIVE products is to take care of them. If you intend on storing your food for the sealed shelf life, store the cans in a place that is not open to elements such as water, light, and air. Take care of it. Don't expose it unnecessarily to the elements. Also, be sure to keep the temperature and humidity low and even. Under these proper storing situations your THRIVE will maintain its delicious taste, natural coloring, and proper nutrients.

YUM
For a twist and more nutrition I added some broccoli cheese soup and it made a creamy chicken broccoli cheese. Is also great served in a bread bowl! I would also like more noodles, but just make some extra pasta and freeze and have on hand to toss in. Or just add more noodles before you simmer the soup. (Adding more noodles in the mix would actually give you less soup mix in the long run)

Absolutely Delicious
I am a consultant for Shelf Reliance and this was one of the first items I prepared for a presentation. Everyone loved it. I will say the directions need to be adjusted. I find it is best when you stir the powder into boiling water, reduce the heat to simmer and let it simmer for at least 15 minutes. You need that time for the noodles and TVP chicken to soften. I often add freeze dried celery and carrots, but is delicious on its own. It is well worth the purchase. I love that I can make one little cup full or a big pot full. That is the greatest thing about all the Thrive foods. Very adjustable for each family size.

Great as it is.
I loved it! This is how I prepared my soup:
First I started boiling 2 cups of water. Now put 1 cup of dry soup in the last cup of water and mix well. Then I added that to the two cups of boiling water, let it come to another boil and take it off the burner and let sit of 20 min. or 30 min. This will be a good serving size for two adults with some bread and that's all you need for a meal.
Next time I will try adding FD carrots and celery. Chow, Mary Lou

very creamy and thick!
I enjoyed this soup although I did add some FD celery and some more FD chicken meat to it. It tasted just like it would if I had ordered it in a restaurant!

Yes and No on taste
Loved how rich and creamy it was. I did add more powder than the directions indicated. I also added more milk. Did NOT like the chicken tvp at all. It was sweet and gummy. Yuk. I fished it out and added my own chicken. I also added more dried celery and carrots. Got a little creative and also added mushrooms. Could have used more noodles too. After all my changes, we loved it.
I think it is great as a base considering how much tweaking I had to do. I would not serve this as it is as a meal to my children.Quality

Great soup!
Opened a can tonight. A great soup, thick and creamy, great taste. Just added some canned chicken (to save my freeze dried but that would have worked just as well). Will be buying more. COULD NOT tell it was from a powder, neither could the kids. TWO THUMBS UP!!
