Our Emergency Strobe is powered by a sophisticated electronic package encapsulated within a plastic dome. The powerful beacon of bright, high- intensity light is visible for up to three miles. It flashes at the rate of 50-60 times per minute and will run for approximately sitxteen hours. The beacon will continue to flash at a diminishing rate for up to forty hours. This instrument easily attaches to a backpack, belt, or clothing.

Excellent strobe
I have owned this very strobe since 1997 it's been at 15,000 ft on a mountain to the Atlantic ocean, in a blinding snow storm in my truck, I also have the red, green, blue and amber lenses. I would suggest this light to anyone for their emergency kit or car/truck for emergencies.

Very Good Strobe
I really like this signal strobe, the one pictured here has a large safety pin molded into the side, so you could hook it to a life vest for boating safety. I wouldn’t Kayak without one. Very bright strobe, supposedly visable at a ¼ mile. Uses D Cell battery. This pictured unit looks like it has a better/updated switch, which is what eventually broke on mine. Mine had the same type switch as the old Everready metal flashlights that had the slide switch with the rubber membrane underneath. Mine had a magnet on it instead of a safety pin which worked better for me. I wanted to put it on the back of my car if I got stranded in a snow storm along the road so I would be visible to a plow truck hopefully before he hit met. It would be nice if they made one with both Safety Pin and a magnet. Totally water proof, but like anything with an O-ring I wipe it with Armorall to keep them subtle. I like the compact size.
